Chlea Ramirez just couldn't take Delaware any more.
So the two months ago the model up and moved to SoFlo, establishing a new base for her career in Coconut Grove. First major accomplishment? She landed a run in Tyra Banks' "America's Next Top Model," which premieres cycle 20 Friday, August 9 at 8 p.m. on SFL-TV, The CW.
"I needed a change of scenery and I thought it would be nice to go to Florida," Chlea says during a telephone interview. "That's where people go on vacation. I'm obsessed with palm trees. I enjoy going to the beach. I go to South Beach all the time. I go there and get a tan."
As for "Top Model" - which this season includes male model in the mix for the first time - she isn't feeling it so much.
"Aw man, the guys got on my nerves more than the girls. I would rather be with all girls. But it was different. It was a different dynamic than the other seasons."
Ramirez auditioned in New York after a cousin suggested she apply in New York. She say that Banks was her favorite judge, but that the audience comments and participation via social media was a close second.
"I'd say Tyra because it's her show. But the fourth judge was like the world and I think that was cool. It was nice to hear what people had to say from around the world."
