Monday night the Carbonell Awards were given out at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and it was a good night for Broward's Island City Stage.

The company, just short of being two years old, won an award for "The Timekeepers" in each of the six categories for which it was nominated, including: Best Production of a Play; Best Director; Best Actor; Best Scenic Design; Best Sound Design and Best Lighting Design.

In it's first year of eligibility, Boca Raton's Slow Burn Theatre Company's staging of the musical "Next to Normal" was nominated for 10 Carbonells. The show's director Patrick Fitzwater took home the company's sole win for Best Director, Musical.
