Cavalli cuisine is coming to SoFlo.
Talk has it that fashion designer Roberto Cavalli is opening an eatery in Miami Beach sometime late this year. The Cavalli Restaurant & Lounge will be located smack dab in the middle of South Beach's Art Deco district at 150 Ocean Drive.
You've probably guessed by now that the menu will feature Italian food infused with Tuscan influences.
But what you coudn't have known until now is that the two-story building boast a gi-normous terrace and be filled with the designer's signature elements from his home collection: zebra and jaguar printed chairs; floral-patterned tablecloths and mise en place pillows-wallpaper-floors.
Oh, and in the kitchen will be executive chef Stefano Mazzi, whose Tuscan roots inspired much of the proposed menu:
Might start off with Mediterranean octopus with pantelleria’s capers and Tuscan oil or Marzara yellowfin tuna with taggiasca olives and citrus jam.
Will include gnocchi casarecci with blue crab meat and lobster zabaione; carnaroli risotto with Ligurian prawns and organic curry; and gnudi pasta with a brown butter sage sauce.
Will range from organic rack of lamb ossobuco alla Milanese to Spanish dover sole alla mugnaia.
