A look from the inaugural "24 Hour Runway Show" in Miami Beach back in 2011. (Cotton Inc. / February 28, 2013) |
Try to wrap your head around the second annual "24-Hour Runway Show" in South Beach March 1 - 2.
The event starts at 8 p.m. Friday and goes through 8 p.m. Saturday on Ocean Drive between 8th and 9th Streets
How can a show last that long you may well ask? All you need are 1,440 looks coming down the catwalk, one outfit per minute. The show is sponsored by Cotton Incorporated and will feature the regional style trends from across the U.S.
You can watch the show streamed live at People.com and Cotton24Hours.TheFabricOfOurLives.com
Repeating their hosting duties from the first time around in 2011, will be TV couple Giuliana Rancic of "E! News" and "Fashion Police" and her hubby Bill Rancic of "America Now" and the website FabFitFun.com.
Word has it that celebs such as reality TV's Lauren Conrad, "Chelsea Lately" regular Michael Yo, "Fashion Star" host Louise Roe and actress Camilla Belle (who appears in Cotton Inc's ads) will all take a turn or two on the runway.
Spinning the beats are DJ Irie and DJ Ross One and there will also be performances by Jessica Who? CC Sheffield, DJ Auldem Brown and DJ Cassidy.
Rod Hagwood: I could have sworn I was interviewing for "fashionable" editor back in 1990 when I applied for this job. I imagined I was just going to sashay around the newsroom wearing an array of fabulous designer ensembles. Imagine my disappointment when I found out my bosses wanted me to actually work...instead of working it.
