Fashion designer Marc Jacobs - who has an eponymous label based in New York and designs the Louis Vuitton brand in Paris - is about to make his feature film debut.
Jacobs is in the new dramatic thriller "Disconnect," which hits the big screen April 12th. The highly-influential designer plays harvey, a porn baron.
The movie is about family secrets spilling out online and stars Jason Bateman, Paula Patton and Alexander Skarsgard.
Did I mention Jacobs plays a porn baron? I did? Oh well, it really can't be said enough. You should know that Jacob's porn baron is one of those porn barons with a heart of gold.
Glamorous? I don't think so. Jacobs told Entertainment Weekly that his scene was filmed between 4 and 9 a.m. in frezzing weather in - of all places - Yonkers.
In the clip below Jacobs is the one who says, "Trust me. No one else" around 2:12.
And so it begins.....
Rod Hagwood: I could have sworn I was interviewing for "fashionable" editor back in 1990 when I applied for this job. I imagined I was just going to sashay around the newsroom wearing an array of fabulous designer ensembles. Imagine my disappointment when I found out my bosses wanted me to actually work...instead of working it.
