FASHION PORN: Miami City Ballet's glam slam costumes

Mary Carmen Catoya and Renato Penteado in Tchaikovsky's Pas de Deux

The Miami City Ballet's triumphant "Program III: The Masters" has migrated down from Kravis Center in late February to Broward Center last weekend and now heads into Adrienne Arsht in Miami this weekend (March 8 - 10).

The company presents Alexei Ratmansky's commissioned "Symphonic Dances" as the closing of a performance that will also include three ballets by George Balanchine: "La Valse," "Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux" (from the lost music of "Swan Lake, Act III") and "The Steadfast Tin Soldier."

And the costumes are scrumptious. Karinska's looks for "La Valse" could have come off of a Paris catwalk.

And the proletariat-versus-the-elites (at least that's what I think it was about) designs for "Symphonic Dances" that were done by Adeline Andre and Istvan Dohar could have tour jete'd right off the stage and into any chic cocktail party.
