The most wonderful three words in the English language: free fashion show.
That's what's happening at "Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach" going on October 16 - 19 in Miami Beach.
The first 100 people to RSVP per runway show at Funkshion.com attend gratis.
All you have to do is click on "schedule" and use the RSVP email option near the bottom of the page to add your name to the guest lists. Or do the same thing after clicking on "Contact."
The 25th season (2 shows a year since 2003) will take place in tents set up in Collins Park between the W South Beach and The Setai Miami Beach hotels.
“One many highlights of this week will the Red Dress Show presented by the American Heart Association,” says co-founder Matt Heien. “Heart disease is the number one killer of women. We treasure the opportunity to create as much awareness as possible and raise money for the fight against this disease.”
Must-attends this season include catwalk capers by: Traver Rains, who partnered with fellow club kid Richie Rich on the fashion-forward label Heatherette; splashy Italian swimwear line Priscilla B Swimwear and “Project Runway” alum Nick Verreos will show his Nikolaki line.
Heien continues with another highlight: “As an example, Gustavo Cadile. Cadile did his very first runway show with Funkshion eight years ago during our emerging designer competition, that he won. He has gone on to dress celebrities for award shows, does New York and Milan fashions weeks and his collections can be found in major stores [Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus].”
Funkshion started as a complement to the Winter Music Conference. Since music is in the event’s DNA, bands and DJ’s perform live at every runway show.
