It's a follicle fight.
"HairMaynia Live" is a coiffure competition in a club setting. Hair stylists will battle by working with natural hair and hair weaves to complete trendy styles within the allotted time (usually 20 minutes or less).

The event takes place at Tempo Lounge (2000 Harrison Street) in Hollywood Sunday, Dec. 16 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Rod Hagwood: I could have sworn I was interviewing for "fashionable" editor back in 1990 when I applied for this job. I imagined I was just going to sashay around the newsroom wearing an array of fabulous designer ensembles. Imagine my disappointment when I found out my bosses wanted me to actually work...instead of working it.
