Miami fashion and culture show spotlights African culture

Ankara Miami 2014 is more than a fashion show. It's a cultural show.

The runway event features emerging and established designers across the wide spectrum of the African Diaspora.

“Ankara Miami is devoted to using our platform to raise cultural awareness and impact our South Florida community and abroad,” said founder and CEO Evelyn Onyejuruwa in a press release.

The Black History Month celebration of African apparel, entertainment and art is Saturday, Feb. 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Florida International University's Kovens Conference Center, 3000 N.E. 151st Street in North Miami.

Tickets are $35. For more information or to order, go to AnkaraMiami.com.
