Here are the trends from Miami Swim Week:

HOLE-Y SUIT - Crocheted, lace and doily effects as well as perforated scalloped edges on swimsuits and coverups.

FRINGE FASHION - Fringe is the new ruffle (I can't believe I said that) on everything from beach bags to sarongs.

WORKS OF ART - Artsy brushstroke and tie-dye prints on swimsuits.

SURFER CHIC - Utility chic (zippers, rash guards) mixed with sporty-looking color blocking and extra-support underwires.

BEACH BOYS - For men the retro '60s swim short a la James Bond is making a strong comeback.

MINI TRENDS - Soft florals, geometric patterns, tribal patterns, leather-looking fabrics and the usual nautical stuff
