Gralnik went on to say that she approached the department store in Plantation for the fundraiser, “…because Stein Mart is my favorite store.”
But the reason is another matter.
“I was abused by my former husband and had nowhere to go,” she explains. “This was 35 years ago. This cause is a passion of mine. I became a child-abuse worker. I went back to school and earned my degrees. I knew that at some point in my life I had to give back. I made 350 cupcakes for this thing.”
This event is sold out but there is a waiting list. Donations are still being accepted with checks payable to Sunrise Lake Phase IV Recreation District for Women in Distress and sent to 10102 Sunrise Lakes Blvd., in Sunrise, Florida.
