Boca sisters hold toilet paper wedding gown contest

Staff Writer

If the marriage doesn’t work, just flush it….the wedding gown that is.

It’s time again to say “I do” to the Cheap Chic Weddings 2014 Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest sponsored by Charmin. Organized by Boca-based money saving sisters Laura Gawne and Susan Bain of the website Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com, the contest is taking submissions between now and May 13, 2014, at which point a panel of judges will narrow the list down to the top 10 and then open online voting to the public.

“What's different this year is we have raised the grand prize from $2000 to $10,000,” says Bain. “Also, instead of flying the top three contestants to the finale event in New York, we will be bringing the top ten finalists and their gowns.”

Those top ten dress designs will be showcased at a live event at The Sanctuary Hotel on The Haven Rooftop in New York City on June 12, 2014 where celebrity judge Katelyn Pankoke, who grew up in Parkland and was a contestant on "Project Runway" twice (seasons 11 and 12), will help crown the winner.

“We invited Kate Pankoke back as a VIP judge because she is a natural fit! She is very knowledgeable on fashion and is the creative director of her own bridal design company,” explains Bain. “She was also voted to return for a second season on 'Project Runway.' She was a pleasure to work with last year and added extra star quality to our event.”

If you think you can wipe out the competition go to Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com for the rules and more information. Email well-lit photos with a front, side and back view of your design along with pertinent information to TPdresscontest@gmail.com.
