How would you like your luxe nuptials paid for completely?
I'm talking a $30,000 wedding. Bam! A done deal.
It's possible if you tune into WPEC-Channel 12 beginning Monday for the launch of the "CBS 12 Great Wedding Giveaway" throughout the week from 5 to 7 a.m.
That's how you'll learn how to get the bridal gown, the tuxedos, the rings, the venue, the food, the entertainment all paid for by writing a love letter to your fiancé, explaining why you want to spend the rest of your life with him/her. And then post that letter along with a picture of you and your honey to CBS12.com/contests.
"We do things all the time with PGA National Resort and Spa," says WPEC general manager Michael Pumo. "They bought up the idea and we thought it was a good idea going into the bridal season."
Five finalists will be chosen to compete for the votes of the viewers. The contest will run though the month of May.
"Morning shows...are always doing this on a national level," Pumo explains. "We thought it was very good to do it on a local level."
And for those of you not even close to being engaged (or maybe waiting for same-sex weddings to be legalized), there is a little something-something for the betrothed-challenged: $1,000 a night will be given away during the 11 p.m. broadcast Monday through Friday. All you have to do is watch CBS 12 News at 11 each week night, get the question of the day and then answer the trivia question correctly through CBS12.com/facebook and qualify to win the money.
