NBC has committed to a long slow rebuild of its troubled prime-time lineup.
Six new showsÂ–three comedies and three dramasÂ–will debut in the fall with at least that many on the sideline awaiting midseaon premieres.
Also pencilled in for midseason is another edition of "Celebrity Apprentice" despite Donald Trump toying with the idea of running for president. New NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt said he is hoping Trump will be available. Even if he's not, "We will bring back the show with someone else at the head of the boardroom tableÂ…It's too strong a franchise not to continue."
