When the Jason Alexander musical-comedy “Lucky Stiff” opens the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival next month, a local funeral company wants to make you a lucky stiff, as well.
Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapels & Cemeteries, a sponsor of the Nov. 7 opening festivities with Alexander in attendance at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, will donate two cemetery plots for the evening’s raffle.
“What are the first three letters in ‘funeral’?” asks Marc Rubin, area sales manager for the South Florida-based Levitt-Weinstein. “You’ve got to have humor in life or you don’t get by.”
