Not long after graduating Lake Worth High in 1973, Thomas Keller started his culinary career washing pots for a pittance at the Palm Beach Yacht Club. Last week the acclaimed chef launched his first Florida venture, the Surf Club Restaurant in Surfside, with a menu that features $132 beef Wellington for two, a $115 New York strip steak (sauce options $7 extra), and $85 Maine lobster Thermidor.

“Returning to Florida is both thrilling and gratifying,” Keller wrote on Instagram. “I am smiling here in Surfside. Excited (and nervous) as we welcome guests for the first time.”
