The 2018 edition of the Palm Beach International Film Festival is officially on hiatus, organizers say.
Adrienne Mazzone, a festival spokeswoman, announced the hiatus in an email to SouthFlorida.com on Thursday, but declined to give specifics. However, longtime board member Al Zucaro on Friday said the abrupt resignation of president and CEO Jeff Davis in May 2017 has thrown the fate of the festival into jeopardy. The 22-year-old festival takes place every March and April.
“It was pretty surprising and very unexpected,” Zucaro says of Davis’ resignation. “About a month after the 2017 [festival] ended, he sent us an email saying, ‘Well, I’m resigning.’ ”
