A highlight of the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, The Chapel was built in 1893 for the World's Columbian Exposition. Approximately 39 ft. long, 23 ft. wide and rises to about 24 ft. at its highest point, it was reassembled and is on exhibit in Winter Park. Breathtakingly beautiful, the Byzantine-inspired Chapel includes a side baptistery, depictions of Christ as Ruler, the Blessing Christ and the Good Shepherd as well as depictions of the evangelists with their symbols, an altar, lectern, tabernacle, candlesticks and a massive baptismal font.(Photos/Georgina Cruz) Mar 14, 2005 Related Content See past Florida Getaways |
