The Miami Children's Hospital Dan Marino Center is a center for the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children with special needs. Services offered at the center include behavioral and psycho-educational interventions, and rehabilitative services including speech and language, and physical and occupational therapy. Also, the doctors at the center provide programs that enhance self-esteem of children and adolescents by promoting physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. The neuroscience program includes five pediatric neurologists who perform EEGs, video EEGs and brainstem and visual-evoked responses.

The Mailman Segal Institute for Early Childhood Studies offers SuperKids, an individualized, hands-on approach to working with students who have learning disabilities or attention-deficit disorder. Students work in small groups with a teacher twice a week for an hour. The instructors create individual learning plans with ways to supplement each student's learning in reading, writing and math. Students create graphs of their progress as part of the program. This motivating tracking system enhances students' self-esteem as they work to reach their academic goals.
