Disney released a full-length trailer for the May 30 release, "Maleficent" starring Angelina Jolie.

For Disney fans watching the Grammy Awards on Sunday, they got an extra treat as the first full-length trailer for Walt Disney Pictures' "Maleficent" premiered during the telecast.

The movie starring Angelina Jolie in the titular role of the evil sorceress from "Sleeping Beauty" hits theaters May 30, and the new trailer revealed even more images from the dark retelling of the 1959 animated film from the perspective of the film's villain. Disney released a teaser trailer in November.

The trailer was accompanied by an eerie recording of the famous song "Once Upon a Dream" sung by Lana Del Rey, which is downloadable for free for a limited time on Google Play.

The origin story for Maleficent will be addressed in the film, but you'll also see, as the trailer reminds us, those scenes we recall most from the original film.

"You know the tale. Now find out the truth," the trailer teases and then offers up images of Maleficent's visit to castle when Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty) was born. You see the three fairies.

What's new is what promises to be an epic battle between man and beastly tree things, the likes of which haven't been seen since Peter Jackson's ents stomped all over orcs in Middle Earth.

And there's a whole lot of green magic being tossed about.

Also, the dragon that caused its fair share of nightmares from the first go-around of the Disney story, gets a bit of a makeover.

When Disney wants to go down the dark path, it knows how to serve up some chill.
