Hotels and motels
There are currently no hotels within the boundaries of Everglades National Park. Previously, Flamingo Lodge was open for overnight accommodations within the park, but due to damages from Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma has closed indefinitely.

Camping
There are plenty of secluded spots to camp within Everglades National park and the neighboring Big Cypress National Preserve. Some have amenities such as showers, telephones, while others are little more than an empty space of land or even a wooden platform that you can only reach by canoe.

Hiking
Because the Everglades is so marshy, hiking is best along a paved trail, unless you bring your knee-high rubber boots for some serious exploring.

Canoeing
The Native Americans who once ruled this land did not travel it by car, motorboat, airboat or RV. They traveled it by canoe.

Fishing
The Everglades provide a perfect habitat for both freshwater and saltwater fish.

Air boat rides and boat tours
Touring by water can be an ideal way to tour the Everglades. Options include boat tours of bays and estuaries, back-country waterways and swamp tours via airboat. Many of the tours only operate November through April.
