Best Middle Eastern restaurant in South Florida 2017: Kababi Cafe by Kuluck

Kababi Cafe by Kuluck

3828 N. University Drive, Sunrise; 954-909-4133;

Tucked in a drab strip mall, this taste of Tehran in western Broward is a delight. A pleasant spice scent perfumes the air, shakers of sumac sit on every table and soulful kebabs, stews and aromatic rice dishes are flecked with pomegranates, cherries, raisins and barberries. Hamid Shirdel, a restaurant veteran, opened the restaurant with his daughter in 2014, and it is popular for its generous lunch buffets and weekend entertainment, including belly dancing.
