On the rocks, frozen, salt or no, Mexican hot spots are celebrating National Margarita Day on Wednesday with drink deals. I'll update with more offers as I get 'em. Arriba!

Bahama Breeze Island Grille: The classic margaritas is $2.22 at participating locations on Wednesday.

Hooter's: $5 margaritas all day and every day.

Lime Fresh Mexican Grill: $3 small, $6 large frozen Margaritas at Broward County locations; $4 at Miami Dade locations.

On the Border: $3 house margaritas all day Wednesday.

Rocco's Tacos: $5 margaritas, $15 pitchers all day.

Royal Pig Pub: Buy-one-get-one free Royal Pig Hand Crafted Margarita or Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita at the Fort Lauderdale restaurant.

Salty Bar at Margaritaville Hotel: Free margarita-making classes at  6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday in Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Restaurant includes free samples and $10 coupon; Reservations required at 954-874-4499.

Tequila Sunrise: Slurp $5.99 top shelf margaritas at the Oakland Park eatery and use a coupon for a free entree with purchase, plus join the VIP Club and get a freebie and more deals.

Tony Roma's: Get a "Romarita" for $2.22 all day.


Here's a DIY recipe from José Luis Leon to make a signature Margarita de la Casa served at Lolo's Surf Cantina at the Marriott Stanton South Beach.

Ingredients: 1.5 ounce El Jimador Silver Tequila, .25 ounce  each Luxardo Triple Sec and agave nectar, .75 ounce fresh lime juice.

Directions: Rim glass with salt, mix all ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice. Variation: add guava, blood orange, mango or passion fruit to taste.
