30+ Memorial Day freebies: Free $10 Target gift card, BOGO Slurpees

Memorial Day freebies, discounts and deals for soldiers, vets and civilians.

We're on the road again.

This Memorial Day weekend, more than 38 million people are expected to travel, spending more than $12 billion to kick off the official start of  summer, according to the U.S. Travel Association and AAA.

Thanks to fuel prices being at their lowest levels in more than a decade, we're filling up tanks with cheap gas to hit the road. The average fuel price is $2.26 per gallon, which is 45 cents less a gallon than last year, says the AAA travel forecast.

AAA's Top 10 hottest destinations are, not surprisingly, Orlando, in at No. 1 and Miami, ranked No. 5.

Lucky for us, we don't need to travel far or shell out big bucks to have fun and save at holiday sales through Monday as we honor and salute the ultimate sacrifices made by our military heroes to keep American free and strong.
