Ticket alert: Wilco's Jeff Tweedy in Fort Lauderdale

Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy will perform at Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale March 15 on a tour supporting his new solo album, “Warm,” and a critically lauded memoir.

Tickets will cost $45 and $55 and are scheduled to go on sale 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Ticketmaster.com. A presale starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, with the password WARM.

Acoustic guitar hero and longtime Tweedy collaborator Jeff Elkington will open the show at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit ParkerPlayhouse.com.

“Warm,” set for release on Friday, Nov. 30, on Tweedy’s dBpm Records, has been preceded by two singles, “Some Birds” and “I Know What It’s Like.” The album includes contributions from his son, drummer Spencer Tweedy, percussionist and composer Glenn Kotche and Grammy-winning Wilco producer Tom Schick.

Tweedy recently published the memoir “Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back),” which traces the arc of his life on and off the stage. It is subtitled “A Memoir of Recording and Discording With Wilco Etc.”

Bob Boilen of NPR’s “All Songs Considered” found in Tweedy’s compilation of “insecurities, drug dependencies and thoughtful reflections” a book that is “incredibly openhearted and honest.”

Paste magazine calls it “a dry-witted examination of Tweedy’s personal life and career so enjoyable even the most casual of fans will be hooked.”
