Christie Brinkley and Sports Illustrated supermodels at Miami Swim Week | Photos

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show Sunday night in Miami Beach was the most.

The fashion show had the most celebrities watching a marathon catwalk spectacle with the most swimsuits (43 designer brands came down the runway).

The VIP area was loaded with famous faces, including actor Ryan Phillipe, Philadelphia 76er Joel Embiid, supermodels Christie Brinkley and Olivia Culpo and Victoria’s Secret model Joy Corrigan. Other notables included Miami Beach nightlife impresario Purple Miami, DJ Chelsea Leland and plus-size model and swimsuit designer Hunter McGrady.

On the runway, which was stretched over the length of the swimming pool at the W South Beach hotel, were American snowboarder/Paralympian Brenna Huckaby and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model Danielle Herrington.

As you can imagine, there were Sports Illustrated posers en masse, including heavenly bodies such as Camille Kostek, Haley Kalil, Georgia Gibbs and Chase Carter.

As for the actual swimsuits shown, the trends spotted on the runway lined up with the fashion direction seen throughout Miami Swim Week, a loose confederation of designer presentations, trade shows, product launches and afterparties in various venues in Miami Beach. Here’s what’s new for 2019 according to Sports Illustrated.

• Nude-colored swimsuits

• Pared-down, simpler looks (especially in bikinis)

• Ties in the front of the swimsuit

• Rib textured fabric

• Athletic styles, come resembling scuba suits

• Long-sleeve swimwear tops and rash guards

• Stripes
