Wellington is conjuring up family-friendly activities to celebrate the season at its annual Fall Festival from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at Village Park.

A petting zoo, pony rides, pie-eating contest, hay rides, trick-or-treating, face painting, bounce houses, laser tag, vendors and Haunted Hallways are on the spooky schedule.

According to the village, 20 food trucks will be serving up snacks and drinks for the hungry haunters and live performances will take place on the soundstage.

The highlight of the festival is a costume contest with prizes awarded for first through third place in the under 3; ages 4 to 6; ages 7 to 10; ages 11 to 14; and 15 and older age groups.

Families can save a few bucks on advance purchases of the unlimited all-access bracelets required for activities. If bought by Oct. 19, the cost is $7 for children and $5 for adults. Bracelets are $10 for children and $5 for adults on the day of the festival. Children age 2 and under are admitted for free. Adult bracelets are required only if they are accompanying a child on the hayride, laser tag or the Haunted Hallways attractions. Bracelets are available at the Wellington Community Center, 12150 Forest Hill Blvd., and Village Park, 11700 Pierson Road.

Park at the Palm Tran bus stop near Nordstrom at the Mall at Wellington Green, 10300 Forest Hill Blvd., and a free shuttle service will up festival goers beginning at 2:30 p.m.
