Boca sandwich voted among best in country

Staff writer

Restaurant Hospitality, a trade journal for the industry, has named the Pork belly patty melt at Racks Downtown Eatery & Tavern (Mizner Park, 402 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, 561-395-1662, GRRestaurant.com) one of the best sandwiches in the country.

Created by Racks culinary director Matthew Danaher and executive chef Todd Katz, it features grilled pork belly, caramelized onions, Russian dressing, Gruyere and kale and apple slaw on thick marble rye bread. Judges said the $17 sandwich tastes as good as it looks.

Other Florida winners are Lobster reuben at Alice Sweetwater's Bar & Grill in Naples; Cajun grouper sandwich at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill in Clearwater; and Cajun reuben at Restaurant IRON in Pensacola.
