Loic Bakery wants to save you a trip to France

Loic Bakery and Cafe Bar

480 Hibiscus St., Suite 116, West Palm Beach, 561-570-1425,

Loic Autret has opened another French bakery after closing one in Delray Beach.

“We sell delicious baked goods and sandwiches for lunch, but in the late afternoon and evening, we are a wine and Champagne bar offering imported artisan cheeses [$13.75 for a board of four] and charcuterie plates [$15.50],” says Autret, who grew up in the Champagne region of France.

Highlights include white-chocolate-pistachio-almond croissant ($4.50), avocado toast (starting at $6.50), three kinds of quiche ($8.25) and Caprese sandwich ($9.50).

“Since I was a kid growing up in France, I’ve always been passionate about croissants,” Autret says. “I loved their shape, their flakiness, the taste and the smell. I want to show my passion to everyone, so they don’t need to travel to France to discover croissants.”

On the sweet side, he combines Belgium chocolate with walnuts and pecans for the 52 Shades of Loic Cookie ($3).

Soaring, floor-to-ceiling windows provide an airy atmosphere with gray and mint-green walls, tropical banana-leaf wallpaper and industrial ceiling. A fountain and bistro chairs grace a courtyard patio.

Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
