YouTube star Randy Rainbow ranks his top three videos | Video

Randy Rainbow — yup, that’s his real name — is from South Florida.

The internet celebrity, who rode to fame raking President Trump over viral-video coals, grew up in Plantation.

“I was really a very antisocial child,” Rainbow says. “I really spent most of my childhood in my bedroom watching Barbra Streisand movies and musicals and making videos. That was kind of where it all started for me. I would go to the beach occasionally. I came out when I was 17. But I didn’t really go out. It wasn’t until I moved to New York that I started actually leaving the house and doing things. You know, I was a typical theater nerd.”

Rainbow graduated from Plantation High School, appearing in school productions of “Grease,” “Guys and Dolls” and “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” He also did the local circuit, performing in children’s, community and regional theater in Miami Shores and Hollywood. “Hollywood Playhouse, me and Josh Gad got our starts there,” Rainbow recalls.

And now, thanks to his song-parody videos (which can get 20 to 30 million views on Facebook), Rainbow has been profiled by everything from the New York Times to Towelroad.

Rainbow was here for two nights, Jan. 26-27, doing his live show for sold-out audiences at Fort Lauderdale’s Sunshine Cathedral as part of the LGBT-themed Outlandish series. In “Randy Rainbow Live!” he shows some of his most popular videos, often singing along for passages. So we asked him to pick his top 3 of all time. He chose:

1. "Braggadocious"

2. "Desperate Cheeto"

3. "Covfefe: The Broadway Medley"
