Fort Lauderdale 'Survivor' prep strategy: peanut butter

Those are some of the ways that Fort Lauderdale native Justin "Jay" Starrett prepared to be a new castaway on CBS' "Survivor," which launches its 33rd season 8 p.m. Sept. 21 (WFOR-Ch. 4., WPEC-Ch. 12). The show was taped for 39 days last April and May, and the winner will be announced on the finale sometime in mid-December.

"The week before [the show], I started to eat as much peanut butter as I could," said Starrett, 27. "I might as well gain a little weight and lose it all while I am out there."
