Given the Police’s flirtations with reggae in the 1980s, it wasn’t all that surprising when Sting, the band’s co-founder, and dancehall artist Shaggy announced they were collaborating on an album, this year’s “44/876.” It’s even less surprising that the duo’s current tour leans as heavily on the performers' respective solo material as it does on songs from the new album.
