"Glee" is a comedy. Who knew?
The ambitious, rousing musical series is a wonderful show, worthy of the 19 Emmy nominations it hauled in Thursday. But a comedy?
The show I watched religiously had far more heavy and poignant moments than hilarious ones.
"Glee" isn't the only example of a deserving Emmy nominee miscategorized. "Nurse Jackie" is classified as a comedy because it is a half-hour. But what's funny about a drug addicted, adulterous wife? I'm sure there were some funny moments but there were amusing scenes in " The Godfather." That didn't make it a comedy.
"Nurse Jackie" should be competing as a drama....
