Casino managers, legislators and psychologists are among those speaking at the annual Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling conference May 14-15 in Fort Lauderdale.
The event will address topics such as public awareness, education and clinical training for compulsive gambling. Also on the agenda are sessions about public policy and responsible gambling, as well as panels of recovering gamblers, said Pat Fowler, executive director of the Florida Council.
The council was formed in 1988 as the state implemented the Florida Lottery. The conference rotates to difference cities throughout the state.
Conference speakers include Senator Maria Sachs, D-
